PLATFORM
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
A City that does not grow to better serve its citizens will fall behind and not be able to provide the needs of the citizens. I am dedicated to help the city focus on what is going to happen to Fillmore in the next 5 to 10 years
HOUSING
Affordable and accessible housing is essential for a thriving community. Gary will work to address housing challenges and promote housing policies that benefit all residents from low income to upper income. We need to have all types of housing available.
PUBLIC SAFETY
The Homeless crisis is hurting the citizens of Fillmore. People do not feel safe walking on the Cities greenbelts. It is not fair to the people that are here helping the community to be a nice and friendly place to live to have their dreams shattered by people that are destroying the safe neighborhoods. We need to address this problem and work with the County plan, but don't just rely on the County to solve the problem.
CITY STREETS
There are many streets in our community that are so bad that it is embarrassing for the people that live and have to drive on these streets that are blanketed by missing pavement. The City should publish the list of street repairs and solicit input from the streets that are the worst.
HIGHWAY 126
The safety of the highway needs to be addressed. There have been over 25 people killed on this highway over the last 5 years. I think that is not acceptable. I understand that this is a Cal Trans issue, and there was a plan proposed in 2016 to make the 126 safer we need to revisit aspects of the plan.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
The City of Fillmore needs to have a positive attitude to businesses that want to come and locate here. I will propose a revamped system that will provide a "Get to Yes" mentality.
